The Vision of Master Luthier Michael Sanden

To bring this vision to life, Tanglewood collaborated with renowned Swedish luthier Michael Sanden, the designer behind Tanglewood Masterdesign. His approach begins at the source—hand-selecting tonewoods that complement each other sonically and carving soundboards to exacting measurements so they respond dynamically to the player's touch. Unique bracing patterns further shape the guitar’s personality, giving each instrument character and expressive depth.

But Crossroads is more than its materials and bracing. Sanden designed this series to capture the soulful essence of early American acoustics while ensuring modern reliability, comfort, and playability. With its Whiskey Barrel Burst Satin finish, vintage-inspired detailing, and carefully shaped neck and bridge contours, the TWCRSFCE looks as storied as it sounds.

Featuring a hand-selected mahogany top paired with mahogany back and sides, the TWCRSFCE produces a warm, earthy, mid-forward tone perfect for blues, roots, singer-songwriter styles, and folk.
